Prayer Ministry: A Lived Experience
Prayer ministry is a lived experience. What does that mean? It means that prayer ministry is one way to invite that “God’s will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6). Prayer ministry moves Christianity from a theoretical system to a lived experience by inviting the manifestation of the kingdom of God in this moment. We say through praying for others that we want God’s kingdom to break into this present instant and change health, circumstances, or whatever the situation maybe so that what God wants done is done.
Prayer ministry invites the kingdom of God to become a reality that we can participate in through our choices and actions on a daily basis. Every time Jesus healed someone or cast out a demon, he demonstrated the reality of the kingdom of God in daily life. Ministry through prayer allows us to invite the kingdom of God into this very moment. One day, every wrong will be set right and every sickness will be healed. Prayer ministry invites that “one day” to be today.
Prayer ministry invites moments that we see, hear, and sense God is real and present in fullness. The abstraction of a distant God separated dimensionally from us is brought down by the fact that prayer ministry allows us to experience the inbreaking of the kingdom of God in clear ways. Think, meditate, and pray… where is the Holy Spirit asking you to invite the kingdom of God to break into this present world to make your “one day” be today?
